We
launched the first copyright portal in 1995, and as a result many of our users
were convinced that copyrighting their stuff was a good idea. But they wanted to
do it online, so in 2002 we launched the first online copyright registration
service. Our Copyright Wizard registered thousands of works, filling the void
until the Copyright Office was finally sufficiently funded to web-enable their
registration process.
Our video tutorial shows you how to navigate the new eCO (Electronic Copyright
Office) registration process. Note that some works still need to have their
deposit material submitted manually.
However, many users miss our old Copyright Wizard, and so we have brought it
back as a free service to assist you in completing a Copyright Registration
form. Simply answer the questions asked by the Wizard, after which you will be
provided with a link to a completed Copyright Registration Form (and a
Continuation Form if required) as an Adobe Acrobat file. Simply print the form,
sign it, and send it to the Copyright Office along with a copy of your work and
a check for $45.00, and you're on your way to a registered copyright.
The Wizard takes less than 5 minutes, so if you are ready to have our free Copyright
Wizard hook you up, let's get started!
